Friends of St Mary's Parent and Teacher Association

St Mary's Parents and Teachers Association are an energetic active group who work hard organising fun activities and events throughout the school year to help raise funds to support our children's education. We keep parents up to date with news and events in the school's weekly newsletter.

Members of the committee are listed on the document below.

The Friends of St Mary’s PTA is holding its AGM on Wednesday 16th October at 7pm in the school.

We will be discussing exciting events planned for the coming school year and an update on our fundraising project to develop the outdoor learning spaces.  Please do come along and support. It’s really important we have enough people helping with these fundraising events so they can take place.

Whether you’re a new parent to the school or a veteran now, we really value your support and would love to see you there to help us make your children’s time at St Mary’s special.

Thank you.

Friends of St Mary's PTA 'Wild Summer' Fete

Friday 12th July 3-5pm

Our Summer Fete is next Friday 12th July. Thank you to everyone who has offered to help and brought in contributions, it's going to be a lovely afternoon. There will be raffle and hamper tickets sent home with the children on Monday, with some amazing prizes to be won.

We usually ask for cake donations but this year we'd like fruit!  We're going to be selling fruit smoothies and fruit slushies. The recipes look delicious, they need bananas, berries, mangoes and pineapple.  Please could each child / family bring in some of the following fruits next week:

  • Reception and Year 1 classes:  please may you bring in bananas, the riper the better.
  • Years 2, 3 and 4:  please may you bring in berries of any sort - strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, anything you like.
  • Years 5 and 6:  please may you bring in mangoes (ripe) or pineapples.

We would appreciate just those types of fruits please as the food prep areas are limited, but no stress if you can't find the particular fruit allocated to your child's class - we will be grateful for anything from the list.

Please may we also have some volunteers (with strong arms) to help us for ten minutes or so after pick up on Thursday 11th?  We have about 14 tables which need moving from the pre-school down to the school shed. If you can help with this please contact Nicola Campbell email:   Very many thanks for your support.

Children are invited to come to school in their own clothes on that day for £1 donation please.

We are also looking for good quality soft toys for our Adopt a Teddy stall. Thank you to everyone who has already donated some. Please drop off any donations at the school office before Tuesday 9th July. Good condition only. Thank you!

Brown Paper Bags for donations of sweets/chocolates/trinkets/small toys to sell at the Summer Fete have been sent home with your child/children this week with the following message:

"I am a little paper bag.
Please fill me up with treats.
Like little trinkets, rubbers, pens
And chocolate or sweets
So, decorate us if you like?
Use your artistic flair.
But most important, send me back
To sell at the summer fair!"

Please return to the school office by Thursday 11th July.

Thank you very much for your support.
