Sustainability for Sports Premium
In order to insure sustainability, each class teacher and TAs works alongside the sports coach and their own class for half a term. This enables them to experience good practice and to maintain/enhance their skills. They also teach a lesson each week, this is not just the duty of the PE Lead or Coach
PD days and staff meetings have been allocated to update staff on new safety guidelines as well as feedback from CPD attended by the PE Lead. Staff are aware of the five key indicators from the Sports Premium Document and a monitoring system is in place to ensure good practice with drop ins sessions and team teaching
Links with local clubs and Piper’s Vale have been established to give pupils and staff access to a broader range of activities. Chance to Shine and elite Sports camps are attended by many children out of school hours
The school is a member of the Schools Games Partnership which along with competitions for the pupils, CPD is offered. The school has also invested in Imoves which provides tools for CPD as well as enabling staff to extend their knowledge outside School Sports and increasing their confidence in teaching Dance and Gymnastics
Our Play Leader team has extended to two adults which has a rotating team of pupils who set up the lunchtime activities which also includes a Peer Mentor Scheme
All staff assist with attending fixtures or covering for clubs. This ensures that if a member of staff leaves or is ill, the events can still go ahead and teachers feel confident and experienced in attending events outside the classroom.
